FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER(FAE)

Job Description:

As a Server Assembly Workstation Technician, you will play a crucial role in the production of high-quality server systems. Your primary responsibility will be to assemble, test, and ensure the proper functioning of server components, adhering to company standards and quality guidelines. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to producing reliable server systems will contribute to the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Server Assembly: Carefully and accurately assemble server components according to engineering specifications and assembly guidelines, ensuring proper alignment, cable management, and secure connections.

Quality Control: Perform thorough quality checks at various stages of assembly to identify and rectify any defects, inconsistencies, or irregularities in the server build.

Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct comprehensive hardware testing to verify the functionality of servers. Identify and troubleshoot any hardware or software issues that may arise during testing, addressing them promptly and effectively.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of assembly procedures, testing outcomes, and any deviations from standard protocols. Keep documentation organized for future reference and continuous improvement.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, supply chain personnel, and quality assurance departments to communicate any issues, suggest improvements, and contribute to the overall enhancement of server assembly processes.

Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels for server components and accessories, and communicate any shortages or excesses to the appropriate departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with delicate and sometimes heavy server components. Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations regarding electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and proper handling of electronic equipment.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting ideas to optimize assembly processes, enhance product quality, and increase overall efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational education in electronics, computer science, or related fields is a plus.

Proven experience in hardware assembly, preferably in server or electronics manufacturing.

Familiarity with server components, including CPUs, memory modules, storage drives, power supplies, and cooling solutions.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, assembly instructions, and schematics.

Basic knowledge of operating systems and software installation on server hardware.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity and the ability to handle delicate components.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing time effectively to meet production deadlines.

Prior experience with quality control processes and documentation is a plus.
